Stephen Warde Anderson

Stephen Warde Anderson is a professional fine self taught artist. He is the author of Code of the the New Aristocrat, A Guide for the Post-Modern Gentleman, and Musings and Versings ...Essays, Aphorisms, and Poems, both available at lulu.com. Anderson was born in 1953 and is a lifelong bachelor. He served in the U.S. Navy. Of a working class background, he is of Scottish descent on his father's side and claims a rich early New England genealogy from his mother's family.  He also has a blog.  Lots of images on his website.  I really like his style.

Collaboration with Paulus - Penland School of Crafts Auction

This years donation to the Penland School of Crafts Auction  which is coming up very soon, is a collaborative piece I did with Paulus Berensohn He made the pot, and I decorated it.  A painting he received as a gift from a friend in Australia inspired the exterior of this pot. We both of been very inspired by Aboriginal Austalian artists.  We are hoping to do another one this fall during the instructors retreat.

Carolina Cleere

Carolina's paintings were a high point for me last week during the heatwave/artshow.  They made me forget about the heat for a little while, and that wasn't easy!   See more here!

Omitted Photo

I was the featured seller on Etsy yesterday.  There is an interview with me if you are interested, and you can see it here.  It was fun answering the questions, though the one about what your memoir would be called really stumped me.  I had no idea.  I'm not ready to think about that in any way, yet.  This is the doll mentioned in the interview that my grandmother made, that kicked off my career as a maker/collaborator, ha ha at approximately age 3????!!  Actually, this did belong to  my brother Joe, but I have him now.  I can still remember being an advisor about his outfit..... quite stylish wouldn't you say?!!!  I'm really happy to still have it.  Nita Ford from Penland North Carolina made the quilt he rests on.  It is amazing, and this is the back side.....

Karen

A snippet of a  piece I recently finished. Maybe a bird, and also a girl, perhaps dead, or dreaming, or  just lost somewhere inside herself.

Late Night Return

We got home late......in a rain storm.  So glad it is over.  It was just too hot, but things turned out ok in the end.   Rumor has it that Claude got skunked.... Any suggestions for how to get skunk smell out of a dog???  This is a tile image of mine from a few years ago called the Evening Queen.  It feels really good to be home...

Big Bang Theory - Ann Arbor day 4

The show has been brutal in so many ways.  I hope it ends with a bang.  (and not thunder and lightening!!!)

Ann Arbor - Day 3

It was super hot yesterday on the street.  Basically anyone who was smart stayed inside...But we had no choice.  I managed to make a few sales to a few people who braved the heat.  2 days to go.....

Technical Problems

I'm having problems with these larger format plates, with the underpainting chipping off on the edges.  This one had the least amount of chipping, but I'll still have to try and fix it.  Ceramics can be incredibly frustrating, especially for one as untechnical as me.....
