Joe

I was looking at old photos yesterday with my cousin, the keeper of the family archives.  We had been talking about doing this for nearly 20 years.... And recently I have been feeling the urgency of time passing.  I was so happy we finally did it.  Our grandfather top middle was born in London, he was also a long distance runner, ahead of his time... Way ahead.  He was good at it too apparently and maybe even won the Chicago marathon way back when.... He was born in the Late 1800's and changed his name to joe smith when he came to Chicago just to fit in.  I'm glad he changed it back to Mendes....... The name I am attached to.  I love these old photos.  Even if I wasn't related to them in some way.
