Much of your pain is self-chosen. It is the bitter potion by which the physician within you heals your sick self. Therefore trust the physician, and drink his remedy in silence and tranquility; for his hand, though heavy and hard, is guided by the tender hand of the Unseen, and the cup he brings, though it burn your lips has been fashioned of the clay which the Potter has moistened with His own sacred tears.  Kahlil Gibran

I'm starting my drive to NOLA today for Jazz Fest, it starts Thursday and I'll set up on Wed.    It could be one really really long day, but we'll do it in two.  Hopefully I'll find something interesting to photograph along the way.  Until then.... enjoy these lovely drawings by Joanna Concejo.

three more working days the pressure of a deadline usually makes me less productive frustrated with not getting enough done, and messy i think I'll start tomorrow off by cleaning up my workspace.  And that includes my assistant who is sleeping on the job as usual, and looking rather dusty.

Electricity

Image
I had to get an electric fence for Claude.  Someone found him in the street a ways away, recently that was the final straw.  I knew he would run off for an hour every day, but I thought he was safe, hunting in the acres of open land behind my house.  We enclosed large area for him, a few acres at a minimum, but still I feel a little bit sad for him since he loves to run far and wide and fast with those long legs of his.  ...... but better alive than dead.  I know that. I'm wondering if it's normal for a dog in training to seem a little depressed?  Today after 2 weeks of it, he seemed a little bit happier, the day was full of light, and bloom, but still not his entirely exuberant self.   I'm hoping in time, he will be ok with it, or if the lust to roam always remains.

Every day should be earth day, not just one day a year. So happy earth day, yesterday, today and every day....

It's the end of wet clay until May for me.... Tomorrow begins my painting marathon. I have two shows coming up back to back at the beginning of May - New Orleans  Jazz Fest, and the Saint Croix Pottery tour in Minnesota, so I best get busy!
