Perfect Timing

I am feeling especially lucky this year when it comes to mushrooms and other things as well.  Yesterday I got really close  and locked eyes (like ten or less feet away)  to some nature that paused before me... Several deer, 3 giant bunnies and this little cutie.  It was almost like they weren't fearful of my kind...feeling some seriously positive vibrations..

I would not have recognised those as edible mushrooms... very different. Any idea of the type of bird?

Anna, we think the bird is a ruffed grouse..... The mushrooms are called morels. Super tasty! I found a few giants today.
