Special delivery to China

It makes me feel good to know that my work sometimes brings real pleasure and happiness, even though it is also sometimes attached to sadness when it carries a personal memory with it.  .  These images were painted as a birthday present for a special person, including the portrait of her beloved cat, but by the time they reached their destination, the animal depicted had disappeared.... I know this gift was received with both real happiness and sadness, as in life.
