Why is this a good place to sit?????  Its a good thing the plates were bisqued! I'm working on four dinner sized plates at once. The format is larger than usual for me, so I have to figure out how the space will work. The colors will be much different glazed, the background will probably be a deep avocado.   I'm curious to see how the others will turn out.  I was a little hesitant with this one.  Hopefully  the next one will be a bit looser.

Anatomy of a hand

Image
I spent a few days working on hands.  I'm still very much figuring it out, but I got a little better over time.  I had a certain idea of how to go about it, and the kind of hand that I wanted to make, but ideas don't always translate fluidly into clay.  Maybe if I made 100 hands, I'd have an inkling of how I wanted to do it, and perhaps, how?  Or maybe not.  Maybe it would take a lot more work than that to get in tune with the gesture of hands .....At any rate, I know a tiny bit more now for next go round....

It might rain all week.  The air feels thick.  Maybe a swim is just the answer!

An old rose, that I found on the property years ago.  Fragrant perfection. Triumphant emergence!!! Kniphofia  (pronounced  /nɪpˈhoʊfiə/ ) [ 1 ]  (Tritoma, Red hot poker, Torch lily, Poker plant) Delphinium is beautiful and generally toxic.  The name delphinium comes from the Greek word delphis, a reference to the flower's resemblance to the bottle-like nose of the dolphin.  Astilbe buds are so beautiful before they open,  it also known as False Goat's Beard and False Spirea.

Same colors - New scheme

This is what happened when I used some of my favorite colors in different ways.    It was fun to see the results.  I really need to do this more often.  It's easy for me to get used to doing things in the same ways, that I know will work.  But, much more interesting, when I don't rely on what I already know.  And maybe a little harder and more risky at first, but well worth it!
