Joy Bridy

Image
I had a super nice visit with West Virginia potter Joy Bridy this weekend. As it turns out, it was dog love at first sight, and our dogs had the best time together and I really enjoyed visiting with, and meeting Joy.   She was visiting family very close to my home.  Somehow I think this might just be the first of many visits, since Claude has found a new BBF!  They were two fast to catch on camera, but lets just say they were a match limb for limb in every way!  See more of Joy's lovely work here. http://www.joybridy.com/

Making some summer/fall inventory.  A little slow getting back into these, as though I forgot how to do it!! After about 60, I think I'll have some choice ones to show in a few weeks and I'll be back in the swing of it.... and so it goes...

Good Morning Larkspur!

Image
I sprinkled seeds last fall that I had saved, in the hopes that I'd begin to start a larkspur patch in my garden. I love the delicate leaves, and especially the blues of the flower.  One of my favorite garden passtimes is learning to identify the tiny sprouted leaves of a seedling, knowing what it will become.  I found a few larkspurs in a horrible weed patch, and I've been protecting them, and watching them since early spring.  First day of summer and they bloomed.  Flowers = happiness for me!

The benefits of cleaning.........

Inspiration?  A random deck of Tarot cards I found while vacuuming my parents house discovered in a little nook by the fireplace!  No one knew where they came from, but for me, the timing was perfect.

I've enjoyed listening to this book while working for the past few days. You can see more about it here.

This is a wild lily in the woods behind my house. Usually the deer come and eat the buds, even when I try to protect them.  Somehow, this year, one made it!  I had been checking for days, and finally today she opened her beautiful face.

Two more to go until I'm done with this batch that was begun in January..... and then it begins again :)

I found a remnant of an old rose bush buried in an ancient untended garden when I first moved to my house. Each year, I anticipate her annual bloom, so lovely, full and wondrously pink.
