Thirty plus artists demonstrate the ability of ceramics to have a relevant voice in the social and political discussions of our time. Experience the dynamic range that these three-dimensional works explore as the artists attempt to enlighten, educate or confront societal acceptance.
To demonstrate that contemporary craft can be actively engaged in the Atlanta community, Kirsten and I are excited to announce that Lost-n-Found Youth will be our non-profit partner. LNFY is Atlanta’s only nonprofit agency actively working to takehomeless lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youths to age 26 off the street and transition them into more permanent housing.
At any given time, there are over 750 youth on the streets of Atlanta that need help. LNFY operates a 24/7 hotline (678-856-7825), a Youth Center, a 6-bed 90 day housing facility, and 3-6 month host home program. It was founded in 2011, by Rick Westbrook, Art Izzard, and Paul Swicord after each of them experienced being turned away when attempting to place queer youth into local shelters and youth aid programs. In 2014, LNFY was named Humanitarian of the year by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Atlanta. For more on Lost-n-Found Youth, click!
